Is there a free plan available?
Siplinx AI offers a free trial with full access to all features - no credit card required. Use promo code TRIAL7 at activation. After the trial, you can subscribe to the Monthly or Annual plan. There is no permanent free tier.
Can I use Siplinx AI without creating an account?
You need a free account (email only) to activate and license the app. The account stores only your email and subscription status - no meeting data is ever sent to our servers. Account creation takes under a minute.
How do I update Siplinx AI to the latest version?
Go to Settings β†’ Check for Updates inside the app. If an update is available, click Install and the app will restart automatically. You can also enable auto-updates in Settings β†’ General β†’ Auto-update.

Recording & Transcription

20 questions
How do I start recording a meeting?
Open Siplinx AI before or during your meeting. Click "Start Recording" and select your audio source (microphone, system audio, or both). Transcription begins immediately - you'll see the text appear in real time. When the meeting ends, click "Stop" to generate your summary.
Which meeting platforms are supported?
Siplinx AI works with any application that uses your device audio - including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack Huddles, and in-person meetings. It captures system audio directly, so no bot joins your meeting.
How do I improve transcription accuracy?
Use a good quality microphone or headset. Reduce background noise. Speak clearly and avoid overlapping conversations. In Siplinx AI settings, you can choose a larger Whisper model for higher accuracy (at the cost of more CPU/RAM usage).
Can I record in-person meetings?
Yes. Place your device with Siplinx AI open near the participants. Select "Microphone" as the audio source. The local STT model will transcribe speech from the room in real time - no internet needed.
Does Siplinx AI join the meeting as a bot?
No. Siplinx AI captures audio directly from your device - microphone input or system audio playback. No bot, no third-party account access, no meeting link required. The other participants cannot see that you are using Siplinx AI.
Can I pause and resume recording?
Yes. Use the Pause button in the recording toolbar. The transcript continues from where you left off when you resume. Paused segments are marked in the transcript so you can identify any gaps.
What audio quality settings are recommended?
For best results, use a sample rate of 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. Siplinx AI works with any standard audio device. Noise-cancelling headsets or USB microphones produce the most accurate transcriptions.
Can I record system audio without a microphone?
Yes. Select "System Audio Only" as the source to capture only what plays through your speakers - useful when you are a passive listener on a call. On Mac, you may need to install a virtual audio driver (like BlackHole) for system audio capture. On Windows, enable "Stereo Mix" in sound settings.
Is there a maximum recording length?
There is no hard limit on recording length. However, very long recordings (4+ hours) may generate large transcript files and take more time for summarization. For all-day sessions, consider splitting into separate recordings per topic or agenda item.
Can I transcribe a pre-recorded audio or video file?
Yes. Go to File β†’ Import Audio/Video and select your file (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV). Siplinx AI will transcribe the file locally using the same STT model. Processing time depends on file length and your hardware.
How accurate is the transcription?
Accuracy depends on audio quality, speaker clarity, and background noise. In ideal conditions (clear speech, good microphone, quiet environment), word error rates below 5% are typical for English. Accented speech or technical jargon may have lower accuracy; using a larger Whisper model improves results.
Does Siplinx AI support speaker identification (diarization)?
Yes. When multiple speakers are present, Siplinx AI labels each speaker (Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc.) in the transcript. You can rename speakers in the transcript editor after the meeting. Diarization accuracy is best when speakers don't talk over each other.
Can I add custom vocabulary or technical terms?
Go to Settings β†’ Transcription β†’ Custom Vocabulary and add domain-specific words, names, or acronyms. The STT model will prioritize these terms during transcription, reducing errors for specialized content.
What happens if my computer goes to sleep during a recording?
Siplinx AI will attempt to prevent sleep mode while recording is active (similar to how video players prevent sleep). If the system does sleep, the recording will pause and resume when the system wakes. Check Settings β†’ Recording β†’ Prevent Sleep to ensure this option is enabled.
Can I record calls on my phone through Siplinx AI?
If you use your phone on speaker mode near your computer's microphone, Siplinx AI can transcribe the conversation. For best results, place the phone close to the mic and enable noise reduction in Settings β†’ Transcription.
How do I delete a recording I don't want to keep?
Open the meeting in Siplinx AI's history panel, click the three-dot menu, and select Delete. This removes the recording, transcript, and summary from your local database. Exported files (PDF, Markdown, etc.) are not affected and must be deleted manually.
Does the transcription work in noisy environments?
The Whisper model has built-in noise robustness, but very loud environments (coffee shops, open offices) will reduce accuracy. For noisy settings, use a directional or noise-cancelling microphone pointed directly at the speaker.
Can I see the live transcript in a separate window or second screen?
Yes. Go to View β†’ Detach Transcript to open the live transcript in a floating window. You can move it to a second monitor while your meeting runs on the primary screen.
What file formats can I import for transcription?
Siplinx AI supports MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. The audio track is extracted automatically from video files before transcription.
Can I edit the transcript to fix errors?
Yes. After the meeting, click any word in the transcript to edit it inline. Changes are saved automatically. Edited transcripts flow through to the summary - if you correct a name or term, the summary will reflect the correction.

Notes & Summaries

20 questions
How are summaries generated?
When the meeting ends, the on-device LLM reads the full transcript and generates a structured summary: key topics, decisions made, and action items. Everything runs locally - the model never sends your transcript to any server.
How does action item extraction work?
The local LLM identifies tasks, commitments, and follow-ups mentioned during the meeting. Each action item includes the task description, the person responsible (if named), and any deadline mentioned. You can edit them before exporting.
How do I export meeting notes?
After the meeting, click "Export" to choose your format: Markdown, PDF, Notion, Obsidian, or Microsoft Word. All exports happen locally - your notes never touch our servers. You can also copy the full transcript or summary to clipboard.
Can I search my meeting history?
Yes. Use the search bar in the Siplinx AI app to search across all your past meetings by keyword, date, or participant name. Search runs locally against your encrypted local database.
How long does it take to generate a summary?
Summary generation time depends on your hardware and the meeting length. On Apple Silicon, a 1-hour meeting summary typically takes 30-60 seconds. On Intel/AMD, it may take 1-3 minutes. You can start reviewing the transcript while the summary generates in the background.
Can I customize the summary format or template?
Yes. Go to Settings β†’ Summaries β†’ Template and choose from built-in templates (executive, technical, sales, standup) or create your own with custom sections. Templates use simple Markdown-style placeholders.
Can I edit the summary after it is generated?
Yes. Click any section of the summary to edit it inline. You can add context, remove irrelevant points, or restructure sections. Edits are saved automatically and reflected in all subsequent exports.
How do I share meeting notes with my team?
Export the notes to your preferred format and share via your usual channels (email, Slack, Notion, etc.). You can also export to Notion or Obsidian directly with the built-in integration. Siplinx AI does not have a built-in sharing feature - your notes stay local until you export them.
Can I tag or categorize meetings?
Yes. You can add tags to any meeting from the history panel. Tags are searchable and filterable. Use tags like "client", "internal", "sprint", or "1-on-1" to organize your meeting library.
Does Siplinx AI support recurring meeting templates?
Yes. For recurring meetings (weekly standups, 1-on-1s), you can create a recurring meeting profile with a preset template, audio source, and export destination. The same settings apply automatically each time you start that meeting type.
Can I generate summaries in a different language?
Yes. The LLM can generate the summary in any language, regardless of the language spoken in the meeting. Go to Settings β†’ Summaries β†’ Output Language and select your preferred language.
How does the Notion integration work?
Go to Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Notion and connect your Notion account. After a meeting, click Export β†’ Notion to send the summary and transcript to a selected Notion database or page. The integration uses the Notion API and runs entirely from your device.
How does the Obsidian integration work?
Go to Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Obsidian and select your Obsidian vault folder. After a meeting, export notes as Markdown directly into your vault. Files are named by date and meeting title. Internal links to speakers or topics are optionally added as Obsidian tags.
Can I export the raw audio or transcript as a text file?
Yes. In the export menu, choose "Plain Text (.txt)" for the raw transcript, or "Markdown (.md)" for a formatted version with speaker labels and timestamps. Audio export is also available as WAV or MP3 from the meeting details panel.
How do I find action items from past meetings?
Use the Action Items filter in the history panel - it shows all unresolved tasks from all past meetings in a single list. You can mark items as done, assign deadlines, or export the full task list to your task manager.
Can Siplinx AI generate a follow-up email draft?
Yes. After the summary is generated, click "Generate Follow-up Email" to get a professional email draft based on the meeting outcomes and action items. Edit it before copying to your email client.
Does the summary include timestamps?
Yes. Each section of the summary links back to the relevant timestamp in the transcript. Click the timestamp to jump directly to that moment in the transcript or (if the recording was saved) in the audio playback.
How many meetings can I store in Siplinx AI?
Storage is limited by your device's disk space, not by the app. Each meeting (transcript + summary + audio) typically uses 10-100 MB depending on length. You can set automatic archiving rules in Settings β†’ Storage to compress or delete old meetings after a defined period.
Can I import notes from a previous Siplinx AI installation?
Yes. Go to Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Restore from Backup and select the backup file. You can also manually copy the data folder from the old machine to the new one. The data folder location is shown in Settings β†’ About β†’ Open Data Folder.
Does Siplinx AI integrate with calendar apps?
Yes. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook in Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Calendar. Siplinx AI will automatically name new meetings based on your calendar events and remind you to start recording before scheduled meetings.

Privacy & Security

20 questions
How does Siplinx AI protect my privacy?
All AI processing - transcription, summarization, action item extraction - happens on your device using local models. Your audio and meeting content never leave your computer. The only data on our servers is your account email and subscription status.

Troubleshooting

20 questions
Audio is not being detected - what do I do?
Make sure Siplinx AI has microphone permission in your OS settings (System Preferences β†’ Privacy on Mac; Settings β†’ Privacy β†’ Microphone on Windows). If capturing system audio, enable "Loopback" or "Stereo Mix" in your audio settings. Restart the app after changing permissions.
The AI model installation fails - how do I fix it?
Check that you have at least 4 GB of free disk space. Ensure your internet connection is stable during the initial model download. If the download fails, go to Settings β†’ Models β†’ Re-download Models. If the problem persists, contact support via Telegram.
The app crashes or freezes during a meeting.
Make sure you have at least 8 GB RAM available (close other heavy apps). Update Siplinx AI to the latest version (Settings β†’ Check for Updates). On Windows, ensure your GPU drivers are up to date. Send us a crash report via Telegram with the log file from Settings β†’ Logs.
CPU or RAM usage is too high during meetings.
In Settings β†’ Models, switch to the "Fast" model variant - it uses less memory at slightly lower accuracy. On Mac, Apple Silicon handles local AI much more efficiently than Intel. Close unnecessary applications before starting a long meeting.
The transcription is inaccurate or produces garbled text.
Check your microphone quality and position. Reduce background noise. Try selecting a larger Whisper model in Settings β†’ Models β†’ Transcription Model. If you have a strong accent or use technical jargon, adding custom vocabulary in Settings β†’ Transcription β†’ Custom Vocabulary can help.
The summary is blank or incomplete after the meeting.
This usually happens if the transcript is too short (under 30 seconds) or if the LLM ran out of memory. Try closing other apps to free up RAM and regenerate the summary from the transcript (open the meeting β†’ click Regenerate Summary).
The app is not detecting Zoom / Google Meet / Teams audio.
Ensure you have selected "System Audio" or "Both" as the audio source in Siplinx AI. On Mac, you may need to install a virtual audio driver (BlackHole) for system audio capture. On Windows, enable "Stereo Mix" in Sound settings β†’ Recording tab.
The app won't open or shows a blank screen on launch.
Try quitting the app completely (Cmd+Q on Mac, Alt+F4 on Windows) and relaunching. If the blank screen persists, go to Settings β†’ Reset App Data (hold Option/Alt while clicking Settings). If the app won't open at all, reinstall from the download page.
My recording stopped unexpectedly mid-meeting.
Check the Siplinx AI status bar - if it shows "Storage Full" or "Low Memory", free up disk space or close other apps. Check Settings β†’ Logs for error details. Recordings up to the point of interruption are usually preserved and can be accessed from the history panel.
I can't export to Notion - the integration is not working.
Go to Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Notion β†’ Reconnect and re-authorize the Notion connection. Make sure the Notion page you are exporting to is shared with the Siplinx AI integration in Notion's settings. Check that you have an active internet connection at the time of export.
The app is not available in my language.
Siplinx AI currently supports English and Russian interfaces. More languages are planned. The transcription language is auto-detected and supports 90+ languages regardless of the interface language.
The meeting history panel is empty even though I have recorded meetings.
Check that your data folder path is correct in Settings β†’ About β†’ Open Data Folder. If you recently moved the data folder, make sure the new path is set in Settings β†’ Storage β†’ Data Location. Relaunching the app usually refreshes the history index.
The app is using too much disk space.
Go to Settings β†’ Storage β†’ Storage Usage to see a breakdown. You can set auto-archiving rules to compress or delete old recordings after a set number of days. Disabling audio saving (Settings β†’ Recording β†’ Save Audio) significantly reduces storage usage.
The speaker labels in the transcript are mixed up.
Speaker diarization is not perfect, especially with very similar voices or overlapping speech. You can correct labels manually in the transcript editor by clicking a speaker label and selecting the correct speaker from the dropdown.
The app update fails or gets stuck.
Close the app, download the latest installer from siplinx.com/download, and run a fresh installation. The installer will update the app without deleting your data.
I see a "License Invalid" error when opening the app.
This usually means the license check couldn't reach our servers. Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, go to Settings β†’ Account β†’ Sign Out and sign back in. Contact [email protected] if the issue continues.
The custom vocabulary I added is not being used.
Make sure the custom vocabulary list is enabled in Settings β†’ Transcription β†’ Custom Vocabulary β†’ toggle ON. Words should be entered one per line. Restart the app after adding new vocabulary entries for them to take effect.
Audio is echoing or has feedback during recording.
Echo occurs when the microphone picks up audio from your speakers. Use headphones during recording to eliminate this. Alternatively, select "System Audio Only" as the source to avoid the microphone capturing echo.
The app is slow to start up.
Slow startup can happen if the AI models are loading for the first time after an update. Subsequent launches will be faster. If startup consistently takes more than 30 seconds, go to Settings β†’ Models β†’ Reload Models to rebuild the model cache.
How do I send a log file to support?
Go to Settings β†’ Logs β†’ Export Logs. This generates a zip file with recent error logs (no audio or transcript content is included). Attach this file to your support email at [email protected] or send it via Telegram at t.me/amanyessen.
